Don't go looking for trouble It will find you anyway:

Roxy spent the night, it seems she will be here for a few days.  I love her but sometimes she drives bones nuts. I find myself adopting her bad habits when she is here.

Before I write this installment of my journal I must issue a disclaimer concerning Roxy's peeps. Megan and Jesse both say Roxy has no bad habits and is basically the perfect dog in all respects.

One endearing habit she has, is going crazy when bikes ride by, barking as loud as she can. Bones grabbed her by her jowls today and held her down., I saw her bite his hand so hard it drew blood. I would never do that. He has never raised his hand in anger at either of us, so I know he was frustrated with Rox, and tired of screaming shut up at her.

I do bark more when we are together . I can't understand if she is showing off or can not control herself around me.  Last night I had to put her in her place by biting her face and holding her down on the ground until she relented. She retired to the bed where I usually repose, so I laid on the floor in all the spots she usually occupies.  The bed is better.

My nose is barely running today (Hoo Ray ). We are at the garden market waiting for treats. I am charming and handsome people want to pet me. Roxy is loud and obnoxious and tries to bite people as they walk by.

Bones let me roam -but  my girl friend is tethered to the table for her own good and the safety of others.
If she were human she would be arrested for malicious mischief.

It turns out Bones is an abandoned puppy, and was never hugged when he was young. I guess that is why he hugs me so much. I don't mind it at all, in fact as I get better and better I crave it. I find that I want my head and chin rubbed. I am even starting to like having my right nostril rubbed and that is a major improvement. Sometimes now I push my head into his lap and hands and demand he rub me.

We are on our way to throw the ball somewhere hoping to wear Roxy out and quiet the restless demon inside her. She is a youngster but she better start learning or I am taking matters under my own purvey doing a little paws on discipline of my own.

I met a big Setter in the park today his name is Barkly. He was very cool. Now that my senses are returning I find myself approaching and initiating encounters. As I have stated I am not looking for a fight, I am just misunderstood. Barkly is big so he was undaunted by my nipping and playful growls.

I love it when the other dog understands I just want to play.

The humans are the biggest hurdle in these encounters. If the owners get all uptight everything escalates and chaos ensues. Inevitably the humans end up growling at each other. Bones is very dog like if push comes to shove he becomes very territorial and always backs me up I trust him more each day. We are developing a bond.

Barkly's owner is a surf buddy of bones. You could tell they had a mutual respect for each other. It carried over to Barkly and I getting along.

Later a couple showed up with a young male Lab Roxy and I did our thing and the owners were very
upset Bones explained my recent situation and how excited I was to be able to play let alone get physical and run It may not have helped that my rambunctious girlfriend was barking and nipping at the humans. The man gruffly said it was not fair that his dog was on a leash and we were not.

Bones muttered that since it was a park he could unleash his dog and let us all run together.

That to them was not a viable option He leashed us until they left. He said he felt sorry for their dog and wanted to avoid problems.

Oh yea, I did a bunch of roll overs on the grass with Roxy, those were cool. I could not have done that before. I guess they are the equivalent of a human summersault.

Until next time be sure to tell the ones you love that you love them and hug them just for the heck of it.

I love you all Cash Fargo Bellinger  Bones and Roxy Bellinger

  1. I love you Cash and i am so glad you didn't die 2 weeks ago. Roxy IS a good dog, but she can sense Bones' scattered and inconsistent discipline style, so she chooses to take advantage of this.

  2. I love you Cash.... I love you Navajo, I love you Murphy... oh, that's right, you haven't met Murphy yet. He's a cat, but don't worry, he thinks he is a dog. He has been with his human girl for 15 years... saved her life more than once. I'll send you a pic... Until then, Happy Trails!
