Home court advantage

Musical beds
I am a very creative. I am the chairman president and chief executive officer of my own domain. I have created a new game.
My new game consist of waking bones up in the wee hours of the morning, 1:30 is a good period. Last night I made him let me out knowing he would leave the door open crawl back under his electric blanket and wait for me to return.

Not only did I not return but Bones got a text from Boss Hog that I was in the bosses bed and would not let him back in.

Don't judge me I know it sounds bad but I was indeed in the Boss mans bed and I was not gonna let him back in. I was growling teeth bared and knew that both humans were at my mercy.
Really this was not my fault, as a result of the holidays I have been hanging in the car a lot and not getting enough exercise so I acted out.

Bones had to put on his fleecy slippers and sweats leave the comfort of his little room, trundle
up the steps to the top of the big house and get me out of Brian's bed and hustle me back to our room.

I have to make it clear who the Alpha is in this pack. Also Buttercup was here the night before and I love it when she visits so I am content to hang with her and Bones. When she is not around sometimes I just get bored.

I have discovered one of Reds squeaky toys and boy do I dig it. It could be because it is Reds I don't know but I sure hope Bones takes the hint and gets me one.

Thanksgiving was very frustrating for me, I did not get to have any human food, well a small bit of turkey here and there but the lack of treats and exercise has left me in a very strange mood, like a merry prankster.

I consider it my duty to keep the bipeds on their toes metaphorically and literally.
Bones met buttercups Mom on thanksgiving and only let out 2 swear words which he felt was pretty good, he is trying to adjust as he puts it.

Let me tell you he let out a lot more swear words last night when he had to leash me up and drag me out of Boss hogs bed.

I am thankful for Buttercup Boss hog Jesse Megan Susan of course my true love Roxy and that Red did not rip my ear off when he bit me. I am also thankfull for Dan and Ollie, my pack is large and powerful.

Hug your people do not be afraid to let them know you need them.

Oh yes and please  Remember a sense of humor can really come in handy.

Be a lover not a fighter

Turns out that Big Red can kick my butt.

From the first meeting I tried to pull off my alpha dog routine on the big guy, I raised my hackles, I gave him my best guttural growl and mad dogged him all over the property.

Red was totally unfazed by all my posturing and in fact dismissed my overtures as an attempt to play.

Red loves a ball, any ball in fact he has them stashed all over the road. When you drive up the windy road to the property you see tennis balls in the weirdest places, some on the road some off the road but all left strategically in case he should need one to plop at a humans feet.

He is a really mellow guy and I finally figured out he is not only not going to fight me but he is a very good guy to have on your side.

You pinkies know how that is, some people it's just best to have as friends instead of adversaries. Everything was going pretty smoothly, I had figured out all my nipping and growling was to no avail, it was in fact a waste of energy.

Then Buttercup walked into Boss Hogs kitchen with Red at her side. I didn't know she was coming up and I was very upset that Red was escorting her, so upset I lost my cool and lunged at Red and actually bit him on his haunch.

This my friends was a big mistake he outweighs me by
50lbs he has about 3 feet on me in height and  length and he had no idea why I was being such a jerk. One swift move of his Rastafarian head and he put my head in his mouth and a nice hole in my ear, it hurts.

If you plan on fighting the biggest guy in the bar, think twice, Bones has learned this lesson the hard way many times in his drinking days and I learned it the hard way the other night.

Speaking of taking a beating I was in another car accident I haven't told you about. Just as Bones and I were settling in to our new situation we went downtown to eat with Buttercup as a celebration. Bones parked his cherry Camry on the street and I settled in for a nice nap. This car was sweet, he scored it from Meg's Mom Susan for a great price and it was the perfect reliable car for our journeys up and down the hill.

Ironically Buttercup and Bones were having a deep conversation about drama in ones life as they ate their breakfast.
Buttercup is not a fan of drama and wondered if Bones life would ever be free of all his trials and tribulations, of course he reassured her all things would now go smoothly.

Bones she said looking out the window  of the restaurant, the police have the street blocked off.

Yea they had it blocked off because some guy fell asleep at the wheel and crashed  his car into the Camry at 60mph and totaled the car with me inside. My second car crash in 3 years and it scared the fleas off me. The car was crushed and  I got tossed like a rag doll. There were  fire engines police cars loud sirens and a whole bunch of people. Where was Bones?

Finally he came running up and got me out of the car.
This was a real test of Buttercup and Bones budding relationship.

The true test of man or beast is how well they handle adversity, the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune can crush a spirit or reveal inner strength.

Keep on trucking. Watch out who you bite they just may bite back much harder.

Hugs from the hill.

Changes in Latitude Changes in Attitude

Arizona,  Montecito, Ojai, Solvang, Carpinteria, Camino Cielo, I have lived a lot of places in my 11 dog years (77 in your human years), and I must say this may be the best one yet.

PW (Pre Wreck) it was just Bones and I doing our bachelor thing in Ojai. we had a routine and I dug it, but life holds many surprises and after the wreck we embarked on a long journey of different houses and different people.

I have documented most of this long strange trip in these chronicles so most of my fans know about my decease my wreck and  my time in solvang, its been a while since I posted so this a short catch up.

First off I am alive and well, after our rapid departure from the Carp house one of Bones old friends invited him to rent a room and an Rv on top of this incredible hill. I was stoked from the first night, it is dog heaven up here smells and creatures and all the stuff a pooch like me needs to feel like the primal soul I am.

Bones buddy is super cool he gets me and he seems to remember more of Bones stories than Bones himself does. He is an incredible BBQ expert and I must admit although I am on my same strict diet I get the occasional piece of steak and when I go out at night I do the midnight lick of the BBQ utensils.

Oh yea and going out at night now means I cruise the hills for a while like a wild dog marking his terrain. I love it.  The first dog I met up here is named Big Red because yes he is huge and he is Red.

See
Bones has a new girlfriend, he calls her Buttercup and he is in love. She is a positive force in his life and therefore my life as well. We are a package deal and as such can be very overwhelming. Buttercup handles us well, she has made the move up here much easier, she put in a lot of work and I hope she knows how much we appreciate it.

I intend to keep you guys posted as our new world unfolds.

My message today is to never assume that the new people in your life are the same as the others, everyone is different and unique and deserves appreciation for their individual thoughts and believes.

Buttercup is trying to get Bones to think positive and see the best in every situation. Mind you these are not new concepts to him but after a series of shall we say misadventures he is a bit skeptical of people, but he is trying.

Hugs from the new hill.   Tell the ones you love that you love them and don't be afraid to let your love light shine.

As my time gets shorter my love gets stronger.
Thanks to Buttercup and "Boss Hog"our new landlord.
