Ones too many a thousand ain't enough

Wow talk about a come down. The night I got back from the hospital my eyes popped open about 1-am.

Bones was still at his computer, I sat on the kitchen floor and stared at him for an hour. I was wide awake Even Roxy was crashed out, I just stared at the wall for the longest time. But I am back today with a vengeance. I have heard that some humans keep their dogs on these type of drugs because the dog is so hyper. They give them zanax valium and prozac everyday. To me that is crazy if the dog is hyper the dog is hyper why mess with his personality live with it. Would you do that to a human? Well turns out they also do that to humans so if you have a kid and it seems a little hyper the doctor will give them the same drugs the dog takes. Wow no wonder you bipeds are so confused. If you can not handle the way someone is you just dope them up until you can. Me Im staying alert and digging every sensation that comes my way.

Today for instance the sky was steel blue, the lake was steel blue, and the ocean ,yea thats right was steel blue. Bones tells me the places we get to see every day are so beautiful that people spend lots of money to come here, just to walk on the beach, or look at the lake ,so we are really lucky to be here. I thought for a while bones was rich because my new  life is filled with the simple pleasures. I have just realized our richness is not in gold or possessions but in the love we have around us. Roxy has spent a few days here and I know I say it a lot but I love her. I sense that this situation is finally one where people don't just give you away if they can't handle you anymore.

Speaking of lucky dogs, I met a dog today on the beach, a german shepherd all skin and bone. The guy he was with seemed to have no idea how to play with a dog.
He would throw the ball and if the dog did not chase it he would throw the ball up in the air and try to catch it himself (he missed every time ). We felt sorry for the dog and went down to find out what the story was. Turns out the dog was a rescue and the guy was a friend of the owner. Bones ask if he could play with the dog. He ( bones ) tossed the ball and Roxy and I and the shepherd ran after it. The dog was totally cool he wanted to play and be chased he was just so happy to be with other dogs. He knew exactly what I wanted I wanted him to run so I could chase him and nip his heels. He loved it. He was a swimmer and went much deeper in the water than I desire. We had a great time and I hope to see him again. Bones thought may be the human was not all there. I am not sure what that meant he seemed to have all his limbs and his head was on his shoulders.

Bones has been on the wagon for 30 years I have never seen this wagon but he said that if he fell off it would roll over him and that would be the end of it. He uses the quote in the subject to explain the situation. I still don't get it.

So to all you hyper dogs out there, I hope you are lucky enough to have a human that can deal with who you are and not try to make you who they want you to be.

Stay alert  look around and smell the everything, life is short make the most out of it.

Everybody must get stoned

So I am a little loopy, they shot me up with valium and I gotta say nothing bugs me right now. I just went outside, stuck my nose in the bushes, and rolled around until I was so tangled up in vines Bones had to unravel me to get me out. Than I fell over on my side and couldn't get up. Why am I stoned you ask? It is because I went in for my second treatment today at the Vet and I am still al little loopy.

I have not posted for a while do to the trepidation of my impending procedure. I was a little scared and anxious. Bone tells me I owe a lot of money so I am learning to tap dance. We will stand on the corner next to the guy with the cat, rat ,and dog in Santa barbara,  and put on a little show. Bones will dress like a dog and I will dress like a human.

One thing that confuses me they tell me the bones in my nose are dissolved and will never return but I wake in the mornings and bones is right next to me. Is that where the bones in my nose went?

I love the Doctors at the Ventura Veterinary Medical & Surgical group.
They fixed me and also got me really high They seem to really care weather I feel better or not. I have been to a few different Vets and these people rock. The Doc today gave bones a high 5.

He really likes the place because all the girls at the desk  are so pretty and friendly..Even when he is trying to save a buck and will not let up.
They did bring the routine in under the estimate. The doctor I have is also very pretty (so bones tells me ). You humans all look alike to me. I go by how you smell and the vibe coming off you, so I can attest all the girls and doctors smell pretty to me.  I love that I will be here tomorrow to document my next adventure.

I am tired I am going to crash on the kitchen floor and leave bloody boogies all over the house for bones to clean up

There is a fungus among us

Hi folks: Cash here, after another day at the beach.
Yesterday morning I  just knew Roxy was coming. I could feel it in my bones. I got up early and woke Bones in anticipation of picking her up. Sure enough we met her at Santa Clause where we took our morning walk with Jesse. Later Bones, Roxy, and I went to Summerland beach and walked a long distance, chasing the ball, birds, each other, and an assortment of different dogs.
We met a lady that saves border collies and other mixed breeds. She had a slew of them with her. It was pretty funny watching 6 herd dogs trying to herd us, while we tried to herd them. One poor fellow had a broken front leg that never healed correctly, yet another had a broken back leg that just drug along the ground. Both these guys were troopers and chased and herded right along with the rest of them.
By the way I am working in another program I do not quite understand so if this post looks a little strange you will know why.
Remember the fat naked guy? As it turns out I am not the only one that did not want to see him in the buff. Late in the day a souped up 4x4 golf cart came speeding down the beach. Bones thought it was the dog police, he scurried after us did a face plant in the sand and leashed us just in time. The joke was on him , the cart contained 2 people police on their way up the beach to make the nude guy put his clothes back on.
I have some scary news my fungus is coming back. My nose is running and I have the sniffles again. Tuesday I go to the hospital to have another treatment. Bones is up to his ears in dept. Luckily he owes the money to his son and Megan and Megan’s mom so he is pretty sure they will not break his legs if he short on his vig. I guess everyone must love me to help out like they are.
I am a lucky pooch to have found these people. I used the “Secret” to find my new situation. It is a specially designed format for dogs.
Bones was hoping the fungus in my head would turn out to be portabello mushrooms and we would all be rich and full. That is not the case however. I hope this time through cures me,I want to live a long time and write about all the wonderful people, places, and animals I know and will get to know. I have a lot of love to share and I know Bones finds deep meaning in sharing in my adventures. He is a simple man.
The ride over the pass each day is very beautiful. There is a lake, mountains, and green hills. Bones is going to take some photos to share with you fine people.
Cherish your friends and loved ones. Stuff is just stuff ,love is what makes it all worthwhile.
Hugs from the hill Cash Bellinger

All quiet on the western front

No Roxy last night, nor today. I was ready to get up and go early any way.

The beach was great, a long walk, a few new doggie dudes. I was feeling very friendly today, may be if I am really good I will not have to go back to the vet and get my head poked. I don't think it works like that though. This will be the tell tale visit as to whether or not I am cured. Boy I hope so.
In response to Murphy the cats response::

Yes Murph we dogs are not only curious but highly intellectual as well.
The fact no dogs have died from curiosity might be pertinent to this discussion Well, may be we just get bored sooner. As to the litter box, that makes sense. I myself love to make a little litter on the beach. The fun part is watching Bones pick it up in a plastic bag, does he save that stuff for later?

Pizza and chicken for dinner: should I be wary of bone's trying to fatten me up?

Do I look fat in this collar? Be honest.  Be kind to one another.   Cash

Cats on the beach: The first step is the hardest

How come cats don't go to the beach? I see cats all the time, on the road, in their yards, on grassy fields ,even riding in cars.
I saw cats at the all the vets I visited, there are cats that live next door to me and hang out in my yard. Megan has cats,
I never see a cat at the beach. Is it a rule, no cats allowed?
I don't get it. Is it because there are so many dogs at the beach that they would be outnumbered?

They should start a club and all go to the beach together. I bet the dogs would leave them alone if 10 or so cats were cruising side by side.

I know from experience not to stick my nose too close to a cats face.
I went to a friend of Bones one day,  there was a big red cat on the porch. He looked friendly, so I approached him gingerly. I really just wanted to sniff him. He whacked me in the head so hard I took off running. He chased me all around the big yard he lived in. Bones found this quite hilarious, real funny. I wonder how he would like it if one of those huge cats whacked him in the head and chased him around?

Lions that is the word I am looking for.

Bones and I and Roxy went to Hammond's  beach. Bones met an old friend there he had not seen for 3 lifetimes (dog life's). The friend had many stories from the past that Bones had forgotten. One concerned Jesse and his first steps.

I guess when Jesse was very young and had not learned to walk on 2 legs yet he was a very rapid crawler. It seems the humans were concerned that he may never get to his 2 feet, and might walk on all 4's forever.

I wonder what the big deal is? Dogs do just fine on all fours, as a matter of fact we are faster, more agile, and able to jump higher.

The story as I heard it:
The old friend and Bone's were in a house with a bunch of friends when Jesse decided it was time to begin his  walking career.
He got up, ran across the room and dove into a big pillow. Jesse called them beanbags when reminded of the episode. Jesse continued to run from wall to wall, jumping into the bean bags for hours.

It seems a baby  humans first steps are a big deal to the older ones. I think Jesse was waiting for an audience to share his special moment with.

When his friend left, Bones and he hugged each other. I suspect that is how they sniff each other.

Bones told me Jesse has an incredible memory, he even recalls episodes from when he was in the womb.

The whole time Bone's was reminiscing Roxy was chasing the tennis ball.  I was kind of fascinated by the 2 old humans and their stories, so I hung around and listened. I have never had a friend for a long time like that.

Roxy is my best friend. I want to know her my whole life.

I am going in for another treatment at the vet. Wish me luck.

Cherish your friends. Cash

A picture is worth a thousand words

Rox and I kicked back for a while today the beach was ours for the taking.

Later Bones and Jesse met up and took us for a walk on the Ellwood bluffs, another dog friendly zone in Goleta.
This morning Bones read the side effects of my medicine to me I could have done without that information. I choose to believe I am not part of the 10% of dogs that have the problems they mentioned.
Because once again I was up and at em way before bones was feeling like cruising.
Its simple really, Roxy and I lick his hands, make him pet us,and try to nudge him into consciousness.

If that doesn't work we start a tandem whimper which builds to a much louder grumbling. It is like thunder and lightning. I forget which comes first, but the thunder always works. He is useless before his first cup of coffee. This seems to be an important human ritual.

Later Jesse and Bones went to a movie. Bones loves to hang out with his youngster, it revitalizes him. He much appreciates when Megan shares her Jesse time. He and I love Megan, she is the best.

They saw a movie called Inception. How I know this is when they got back to the truck (finally) they ignored us and raved about the movie. We heard about the stars, the plot, the action, the director, they loved it.

On a scale of 4 paws being the best and 1 paw being the worst, I have to say from the extensive review we were subjected to, this was a 4 paw movie.

Roxy went home with Jesse I was kind of sad but I had chicken for dinner so everything is fine.

As to yesterdays post ,I guess some humans like to see other humans in the buff. Bones wants to thank the commenter and yes, turns out that was him playing frisbee in the old days on the very same beach. He too has fond memories of those days and said something like if I only knew then.
Tell someone you care about how much you appreciate them. Love to you and yours.

Clothing optional:

Today it was extremely hot again, Roxy and I and Bones went to a beach where the clothing is optional.
I have seen a few naked humans and let me tell you they should not have that option. They just are not designed to walk around au natural. It seems when they do have the option the ones that are the most poorly designed are the ones who take off their clothes. It should really be at the option of the other people.

There would be a closed ballot as to who could and who should not disrobe. Even from my perspective it is pretty obvious and yet still the ones you just do not want to see are the ones that want to share.
Roxy and I played with lilly ( the body surfer ) she chases sticks into the water and catches a wave back to shore. We barked and chased her for a long time. Later we chased a tennis ball and still later Megan and her mom showed up which was pretty neat. Rox and I kind of wanted to go with them but we stayed with Bones so we did not hurt his feelings.

All I can say is Bones kept his clothes on and that was a good thing.

To hot to think
